X-Mas, Mexico City and yes…Street Photography

You know that…contemporary street photographers last maximum 5 years and they disappear.

They get obsessed, maybe they get to know a certain period of exploits, then the enthusiasm wanes, they start saying they don't want to get trapped in labels and then, almost always, they disappear from circulation.

Not me.

After 15 years I'm still here. I'm a photographer by profession and without ever stopping being a street photogeapher. Never lost enthusiasm. In fact, now it's more invigorated than ever. My tattooed arm even declares it: Street Photographer.

How many photographers do you know, today, who can boast over 15 years and still persist? And who still do good street photography?

How many have we lost, on the street (so to speak), in these years?

I am a photographer, a professional photographer, but never stop to be also a street photographer. I don’t feel limited by a label and I don’t feel that I can’t make anything I want…just like I do all the time. Yesterday I was on the streets of Downtown and I enjoyed one of the best days on the street with my camera in over 15 years here in Mexico City. There was a special energy and I was able to make several good shots. Or maybe I was in a special mindset, don’t know. I love the city and nobody is gonna change my mind.

These are the photos I want to share with you…

I wish you Merry X-Mas, Happy holiday time and whatever you want to celebrate. Peace and Love, we need it for real.
