Alex Street Photography Highlights - May 2026
This…particular…month…
PHOTOS
I like this frame. It looks cinematic, it looks cinematic without being so. Because it avoids those filters and effects that make everything look shitty and fake and greenish. It looks cinematic in the way Stepher Shore does. That’s it.
The subtext could be: a revolutionary act against Instagram's photographic conformism.
Mexico City is a great accomplice that suggests this absurd and crazy visual anarchy that rapes and caresses my eyes every moment.
How much fucking urbanity resides in your photography?
I see too many street photographers who make everything so sweet and so damn Hello Kitty and I'm fed up with it.
How to tell you that I shouldn't go to La Merced and instead yes I go to La Merced.
Here I am, preserving a modicum of photographic normality. So they can stop badmouthing me.
Give me a hand to take a picture.
Should I comment? Sometimes I fall in love with certain poses. And here are three interesting ones.
Imagine. I'm in Acapulco. From my room in the 5-star hotel where I'm staying. Tired after 15 hours of non-stop work. What do I do? I look out and see this scene. I grab my camera and shoot. This is intimate stuff. The result of a great deal of photographic effort.

THOUGHTS
A busy month, though one in which I approached street photography somewhat distracted by everything life was stirring inside me. Of all the photographs I made, it feels no coincidence that I’m especially drawn to the image of the palm trees in Acapulco. It came from the only real moment I had to reflect with myself during two intense days of photojournalistic work. Maybe that’s why I feel it is such a sincere photograph. Whether it is also exceptionally cool is another question entirely.
I’m coming off two particularly intense months, marked by three assignments that took me beyond the city. My path as a photojournalist has entered a new and deeply intriguing stage. I feel strengthened by it. I know I can give even more than this, and that awareness excites me.
Not only as a creative solution for brands and client agents, but also as a photo coach, I believe I now have even more to offer the people who place their trust in my work.
