DSLR cameras to consider in 2024

DSLR cameras are not dead, if not in the heads of modernizers at all costs and obviously of camera manufacturers who only think greedily, moreover without showing much real knowledge of photography in many cases.

Don’t believe the hype. DSLR cameras are still a great solution. Even though mirrorless cameras are gaining popularity. DSLRs offer excellent image quality, a wide range of lenses to choose from, generally have a longer battery life than mirrorless cameras and the OVF gives you a more organic experience.

Sometimes, influenced by the marketing syrens and so many photographers who switched to the new mirrorless systems, we tend to forget the importance of the feeling. For example to me is difficult to consider as an option an electronic viewfinder, because I want to see the reality in front of me. DSLR cameras still have that optical and mechanical component that remains something closer to the pre-digital era. Furthermore, the fact that photographers who have masterpieces that are still appreciated today have created them with Nikon D700 and Canon 5D is underestimated. So what DSLR cameras I recommend you in 2024? Here we go:

Nikon D850

This is a well-rounded DSLR that is perfect for a variety of photography genres, from landscapes to commercial portraits. It has a high-resolution 45.7-megapixel sensor, excellent image quality, and a fast autofocus system. And of course a battery life that means not chaging it in just 2 hours like mirrorless do.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

This is another great all-around DSLR camera. It has a 30.4-megapixel full-frame sensor, excellent low-light performance, and a durable weather-sealed body.Your journalism is dsafe with this camera.

Nikon D7500

This is a great mid-range DSLR camera that is perfect for enthusiasts. It has a 20.9-megapixel APS-C sensor, a fast autofocus system, and a tilting touchscreen display. A travelling camera good for all your shots.

Canon EOS Rebel T8i

If you read this blog you know how much I have consideration for this glorious series with the coolest name ever seen in a camera series (at least in Americas) because is a great entry-level DSLR camera that is perfect for beginners, and also for street photographers like me. It has an 18-megapixel APS-C sensor, a real user-friendly interface, and a compact and lightweight design. With this camera you can focus only on making photos.

Pentax K-70

This is a great DSLR camera for travel photography. It is weather-sealed, has a durable build quality, and has a unique in-body image stabilization system.

PENTAX K-3 Mark III Monochrome

This unique camera is designed specifically for black and white photography. It has a 25.7-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor that captures high-resolution images with rich gradation and exceptional detail. The camera also lacks a color filter array, which allows more light to reach the sensor and results in improved image quality, especially in low-light conditions. A monochrome camera is an extreme choice and yet a viable option for several photographers.

Conclusions

When choosing a DSLR camera, it is important to consider your budget, your photography needs, and your preferred brand. I recommend reading reviews and comparing specs before making a decision. By not being anymore the cameras anyone endorses, with the camera manufaturers discontinuing their production, DSLRs cameras can be found in the second hand market where you can find iinteresting deals.

We don’t care what the hype on the market is pushing: we are photographers and we can make a best choice by working with a DSLR camera. There are still a lot of photographers appreciating the different experience offered by these cameras. I am sure that many will appreciate this post, about reflex cameras, in 2024.
