In my experience, I have seen how, in most cases, selecting daylight as the white balance works better than all of them to obtain an effect that evokes most of the color processes of films. This is because most of the processes were in daylight balance, due to everyday situations. This will work for most photos, however when you are taking photos indoors remember to switch to automatic, because sometimes the result will be too yellow. Sometimes daylight works on indoor photos too. Remember to also lower the contrast, this can open a discussion but except for a few photographers with a particular vision (thinking about Moriyama), in the time of analogue there was no exasperation of contrast as has happened since the advent of digital.
