Getting close, and a lot, but always with a humanist approach

What I have always pursued is evident above all from the gaze turned to the people who have matured in the last year.

Girls. Alex Coghe, 2022

And this, one of the last photos taken, perfectly represents this philosophy that I carry within me.

Photographs always taken spontaneously, without asking, yet respectful. Photos that are oriented towards the human being with his multiple faces. Photos that show the beauty of people. A positive thought remains in me, yet aware that the world and society are ugly and that we are living in dark times. But when I photograph I still want to keep that child's gaze, perhaps naive.

And far from the trend that wants to show the monstrous aspect of people on which many street photographers have focused, I remain instead connected with a more human and humanist idea and this is reflected in my photographic observation. But this deviation from certain approaches that belong to others does not at all mean that I move away from street photography. The only thing is that I live it in a way that is perhaps not the current one. This is why I love to call myself a street photographer yes, but of the old school.
