Something important to say here…
This selection immediately lights up with an instinctive street photography that enjoys a personal composition. Ask yourself how important it is to break away from what has already been seen and try to say something personal. Between anticomposition and impulse reaction. Influenced only by what I'm faced with.
The surprise of finding a landscape like this not very far from where I live deserves to be included this month. And it is an opportunity to declare that I am not a simple street photographer but much more, something slightly more complex to frame.
Photographing in certain places is not at all easy. But they are what I experience and a photographer must deal with himself if he wants to propose something authentic. It bleeds. As a gonzographer.
Translating a photo that certainly has content through a composition. The words "fuckin drugs" should give a measure of where I was. However, formal care does not forget the importance of giving something that is a social commentary. For all the brats who only photograph happy living rooms there is my answer.
That doesn't mean I can't play too.
Street Photographer > Street Photography.
And my presence on the street is important. I'm called "guero" and I attract attention, there's no denying it. With a camera this becomes even more likely. And photography also means interaction. I don't follow certain rules but rather live the experience of being a photographer in the city. When I go out I don't think about whether it's street photography or not and what matters to me is what I'm doing: a social comment that becomes a political act. If anything, this is journalism, not the bullshit they tell on TV. I don't respond to agendas nor to label codes. My street photography aims to explore and at the same time make known certain situations, certain existences. Without discrimination or censorship.
Street can be a funny place but is also ugly. Whoever hides this is not correct. Anyone who is afraid of this should stay at home. So kids, stay home...
I saw this little boy who entered the supermarket from the street and positioned himself there. I think there is even a more interesting story behind it than what the photo shows.
Call it serendipity, call it dumb luck. I move with the flow of consciousness. And that is my work essentially. A shot that works.
When you photograph in color make sure it is justified. Same for black and white. And…yes, dumb luck.
70mm and going against the…the policemen of the rules. I am not into photography to to pursue religions that I don't follow even in life. It counts only the photograph. And…the consistence of my vision.
A photo I already wrote about. This will probably remain my photo from the election period.
About 70mm. If I can take a photo like this, damn, I'm doing good. It is a very personal focal point. Detaching from what others do, so why not?
A photo taken on March 30th actually but which I wanted to insert here. Taking photographs on my birthday and finding a scene like this. I love this motel and I love the mood of the photo, really 70s.

I purposely set this selection in a form that could make me talk about certain issues that are close to my heart.
I am pursuing a personal path and with which I am still showing creative juices. I have been doing this profession for many years and I am still standing, but above all I am with an enthusiasm that never wanes. This obviously makes me proud.
