Getting close and closer. My Street Photography this month…
I believe that the work of a photographer on the street is to recognize a moment as photographic. In this case I was very impressed by the tube shape of the skirt and, of course, this lady's yellow jacket. All that comes around is the harvest.
The light and its effects prompted me to photograph in a place that has already given me satisfaction in the past. This metro scale is magical and deserves a dedicated study. Even if the place would not invite so much to stay in that area.
My documentary work this year is characterized by the PANDEMIC LIFE project. I see here an image full of life. And saying a lot about Mexico and Mexicans. Despite we all are living in a dark era I can see a lot of positive things here.
I'm content with how he managed to handle the composition here. It is a busy scene and the energy of the moment is respected.
Again a good composition, in my opinion. The moment caught is a bit surreal and indicative of a particular moment of the worker. I got close enough and certainly didn't hide anything of my photographic intentions. I can't say if she liked it or not. I left immediately after the shot. I can only say that I have not heard screams behind me.
If you think this is a picture of an ass you don't understand much: I photograph a lot in the Barrio Chino (the smallest Chinatown in the world) and my photography is concerned with presenting portions of reality. The dropped suspenders were an attractive pole together with the oriental shirt. Again (like the previous one) the frame is divided into three parts with the boy and the cart, the girl and then the place of tacos.
OK, this detail is part of a place where I often find myself to go and catch the bus that takes me home. A place where my friend's camera was stolen. And despite that I don’t put my camera on my bag. “It is forbidden to urinate here” that you can understand only if you speak Spanish, but…I think is an important document in some way.
A portion of reality is what lead me to photograph. I explained in the previous post about this photo, so here I just say that the detail marks the difference.
How many times I have to write that gestures are the main focus to me when it comes to street photography?
Oh, i really love this image. It is not something easy to do. I love how the frame is filled. Another portion of reality that I was able to capture.
Notes
This month that is not concluded brought me many photos even though I photographed less. I feel really good about where my street photography is going. I feel a new awareness that makes me think that today I really know what I want as a street photographer. In this speech I also want to include the consideration that I am experiencing Mexico City in a much deeper way and pushing myself to places where I did not venture before. I love to photograph here.
