Highlights November 2022

This month:

She Devil. Alex Coghe, 2022.

Taking pictures in Cuautepec is risky. But it is exciting to find scenes like this. A street photographer can only be thankful for the great harvest.

Sad Clown. Alex Coghe, 2022.

The street portrait is always a great test. I always try to have a vision. I think I raise question marks. And I don't make you comfortable.

Snoopy. Alex Coghe, 2022.

It seems we have an agreement. But no: Snoopy goes where he wants.

Deep Barrio. Alex Coghe, 2022

I'm a fucking boss. Finding myself in such a place for the first time and taking a shot like this, where form and content find perfect conjunction is not something for everyone. Three frames inside one. Yes, I am a fuckin’ boss.

It seems Naples. Alex Coghe, 2022

I like how I handled this scene. For the first time in the place with all my senses more alert I was able to capture the essence of the place, one of my main goals whenever I take pictures.

Girls. Alex Coghe, 2022

There are portraits that come out despite not being portraits but "stolen" shots. As in the case of this photo.

Mask. Alex Coghe, 2022

I have already expressed myself on the masks in one of the last highlights. One of the most detestable and unsightly things on the planet. A pant in the face that disturbs and erases the expression and therefore the identity of the people. With that said I think with this photo I achieved to make a good photograph, which among other things highlights precisely said anti-aestheticity.

Gotham Alex Coghe, 2022

A blurry photo and therefore far from perfect. But the man's posture is the photo.

Urbanity. Alex Coghe, 2022

My return to black and white in a photo of an urban landscape that features typical elements of my vision: the pole, the portrait crop, reflections and above all a disarming silence.

Julieta Venegas. Alex Coghe, 2022

A seemingly simple photo but no. And it is already document.

In da sky. Alex Coghe, 2022

I suffer from vertigo and this photograph is a huge effort for me. Because my vertigo is also empathic. A crafty shot, anyway.

Notes

An intense month, perhaps a little less than October, but I still gave enough. An intimately portrait month. Where I feel I have expressed even more distinctly my propensity for portraiture, even at a latent level.
