Is Canon Rebel T7 any good in 2022 for Street Photography?
I just published a new video on THE STREET PHOTOGRAPHY CHANNEL:
The results my readers are seeing every day on this blog. Consider that the lens is not exactly my favorite focal length as the 24mm is a 38.4mm equivalent (1.6 crop sensor for Canon) and in a certain sense I had to adapt my approach to this difference which in the end makes itself felt even if it doesn't seem much the difference compared to a pure 35mm.
The reality is that I'm going against the grain, as I often do. Today the market has practically diverted attention to miirrorless, and in particular, street photographers now work with compact cameras such as Ricoh GR or mirrorless, especially rangefinder styles. However, I realized that compared to certain mirrorless cameras that offer a fake pentaprima at the top (which frankly gives me the nerves) the weight and compactness are in favor of my small reflex. And with all the advantages (and disadvantages) that a DSLR comes with I can see what I could realize. I don’t care - i never cared - what others think. I am not a photographer to appear cool with the last camera on the market or because a certain camera makes me look more like a photographer.
I don’t know if you like the photos included on the video. I just know that I am happy with the work I am producing. And that's the only thing that matters.
