Photojournalism: Villa Mujeres in 2012

In 2012 I worked on assignment for Basilica de Guadalupe.

In 2012 Photojournalist Alex Coghe realizes this reportage, a work dedicated to abandoned people by their families, hosted in a structure in Mexico City. The project is very important for the raising of funds for these people and the structure that houses them.

Some of the people who live in the structure have mental illness, other ambulatory deficiencies. Some images of this project are harsh and I hope to be able to convey the pain, the sadness but also the great dignity and the happiness of this people. - Alex Coghe, 2012

Please note: the video contains harsh images. In this video is present unpublished material.

This has been one of the works more difficult to do. It was not just the theme dealt with and subsequently I made other coverages that were quite impacting on an emotional level. This is the journalism that I consider honest and with a real goal.

I would like to say that I did not receive any money for this work and I offered to do it.
