Photographing is an act that can belong to the most intimate essence of me. Photographing Carmen, my wife, in bed. A photograph, as always, exists because the photographer exists.

Carmen. Mexico City, 08/05/2014. Alex Coghe

It is in the absence / presence of the photographer that he reveals himself.

An intimate gesture like smoking naked in bed becomes a story. Indeed, more than a story, an atmosphere, a sensation. An almost palpable sensation. The photo therefore needs little, and the negative space has reason to exist. Photography that offers a portion of an instant, as a suggestion of existence, of a poem linked to that moment that becomes almost metaphysical. Close and distant, immortal over time.
