Reality Remade: story of a street photography project
OK, this is an old video of me shooting on the streets of Mexico City, in 2011. I was younger, with less experience and yes, I was shooting with flash! This is because I was working to my project Reality Remade. Someone recommended me to take it down this video, but you know what? I think all we are in a process constantly and I am not a perfect guy and not even the perfect photographer. So I would share it, especially with the younger photographers here. Many things are changed in my life and my career as photojournalist. But Reality Remade is still appreciated a lot.
Reality Remade is an example how street photography can be not just single shots. In 2011 I was already thinking for projects, because I am essentially a documentary photographer. Creating ghosts allowed me to offer a reading of life and death, how volatile our existence is. All concepts that will then be analyzed even more in depth in my documentation work in Oaxaca during the Dia de Muertos celebrations.
Now you can check out my project Reality Remade in my portfolio website:
I was asked where are all the contents of the old blog. First of all you have to consider this a complete new experience. Anyway the best of that blog is now available in my e-books that you can purchase here:
