Street Photography Essence

Gian Luca Marino, a friend managed to capture the essence of making Street Photography in 3 seconds, when he filmed me in a video during a workshop I given in Florence, Italy some years ago:

Again Joel Meyerowitz said us how to work on the street, and I made it mine: make sure you have the camera ready and raise it to point and shoot at the last moment.

Street Photography is about timing and reaction. You can't think about it too much and you must have the ability to preview, therefore make a choice, possibly the best you can make, in fractions of a second. If you are a photographer who takes time to take a picture, you will hardly ever be a street photographer.
