STREET PHOTOGRAPHY HIGHLIGHTS JUNE 2025

We can notice a change here

Compositions where the cuts mark the narrative are a great challenge and something I always try to propose.

Recognizing art in the street allows me to connect to how the everyday enters into photography in a particular way. Art is everywhere, we must be able to see it.

I happened to see a video on YouTube that stated that color is the theme. But this was done with the support of images in which there was really little or nothing and the street photography was very basic and not even interesting. And they propose even workshops. I know why people decides to choose me as a photo coach. Because I am a photographer all the time focused on making photos where form and content count with an important idea and background. It is never a photo with a character and only because of the character. And is never the color the theme. It can’t be just…that.

I have had a tough month on the street. Extremely variable light, with rain and clouds almost all the time.

The surreal that this city gives me often comes to meet me. I welcome it.

The moment when an individual meets his doppelganger must be exceptional.

Mexico City and I are partners. Partners in crime.

Intuition. Intention. Instinct.

The reaction comes almost immediately. Reaction times vary, from person to person, from moment to moment. We are not always ready to react (frame and shoot) in the same way.

The intuition that comes from the visual stimulus makes us recognize and decide. The intention will be the result that we will see in the photograph. And it is not at all certain that we will succeed. Instinct is that irrational form of acting that we must train like a muscle.

In my photography I am very interested in how certain sensations that I feel when I observe work. To be honest, I almost never look for a story. For me it is more important that an image acts on an even deeper level than the didactic and therefore the rational. I count on certain visual stimuli that give me pleasure to be found with the same strength by the observer. The same strength that I do not pretend corresponds to the same experience. May everyone be able to make their own through the enjoyment of my images.

As a street photographer, I am trying to find my place. I am very interested in the issue of giving more weight to form, because I am convinced that a photograph must generate pleasant sensations. No, I am not talking about taking beautiful photos, but rather I am keen to define an idea of my aesthetic world, a way of looking at the world around me. Hence the choice of colors to be able to produce a visual sensation that can communicate a lot about my world, about what I live through an expansion of the experience in that place and in what I have in front of me. Not of mere reproduction, however. Giving photographic character through choices aimed at presenting an absolutely personal photograph, in a “genre” currently over-inflated with proposals.

It is not easy. You try. But a good start comes from having ideas.

Finding the abstract and getting a feel for the metropolis is another thing that pushes me to work in a certain way with the camera.

THOUGHTS

Through this month I push my photography towards an even more personal dimension. I refer to a technical approach that provides a different aesthetic dimension and that allows me from now on to advance towards those territories to which I aspire.

A month full of mistakes, frustration, yet intense and fulfilling from a purely artistic point of view, to the point that all the ugliness of the world is overshadowed by the enthusiasm in which I am registering this change.
