Street Photography Tip 11
Accept the imperfection. And welcome it into your photography.
I think that imperfection is the sauce of street photography. I don't like these overly perfect photographers. If we agree that street photography is not studio photography, well then we have to accept that this type of photography lives on the imponderable and on the mood of the moment, which I call energy.
When I am on the street I photograph full manual, including manual focus. And this makes my photos more human and therefore with the imperfection present in them…and you know what? I love it! As a photographer I don’t forget the importance of the atmosphere and I prefer when a photo offers you something without necessarily being didactic and absolutely clear in its intent. I prefer it to get in on making you feel there for example and I really don't mind following composition rules determined by others. I love to feel absolutely free and also dare to propose images that you would not expect.
My photography must first respond to myself. And it has to do it first by making me have fun and then by communicating something to me. I'm not worried if it doesn't get to someone. There will always be someone who doesn't get our visual proposal.
First and last rule: don’t have rules. Just enjoy what you do and show me what you have.
