The 50 Best Street Photographers in 2022

Here we go with another list. But I made this list without listening any rumor/imposition from the “above”.

An introduction

This is not a ranking and the numbers are therefore not positions. How did I make this list? I have only entered names who are currently doing a job that can be defined as street photography. therefore I have left out masters still alive who most of the time offer archival material. Inside you will find names that you already know but, I bet, also many that you are reading for the first time.

Do you find many photographers based in New York City? This is because this list is completely subjective and I believe that in New York today the scene is very active and interesting. Furthermore, the preference for those photographers is clear who, rather than showing ego through a "look what I found" approach, focus on the other, really documenting the human condition, making many portraits and finding in gestures and expressions the wonderful recipe to express the own art.

I clearly feel a lot of affinity with so many photographers that I have included and these are really my favorite street photographers right now. I think it's a good list. Regardless of the talk of inclusiveness, I made this list and it came out very inclusive, so you can't even attack me on this one.

And a little note before moving on to the names: I avoided inserting photographs and links. It will be you who will have to go and look for the sites, the accounts on instagram and observe the work of these talents. Make a little effort, I promise you it's worth it.

Conclusions

When making lists, clearly many are left out. Don’t take it personal. I forgot someone for sure. Others simply don’t make this list for several reasons that I considered. It is just a list, my list of 2022. Feel you free to comment and tell me other names.
