The best Street Photography cameras I ever worked with

Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with numerous cameras, each offering its unique features and capabilities.

I am thrilled to present you with my top 10 favorite cameras for street photography. Of course, tastes may differ, and your list might not entirely align with mine, but that's the beauty of photography - it's an art open to interpretation and personal preferences. In any case this list was only made with cameras I've worked with over the years. Certainly in general there are better performing cameras that can receive more favors from the public in general, but I believe that a list made by a photographer that only includes cameras that he has actually used and not based on the technical characteristics is more truthful.

Furthermore, many will be surprised to find a given camera in first place or to find cameras for which they have a lot of consideration in the back-up or even in the middle of the table. But this is my ranking, which I compiled with several factors in mind, in particular:

  • Personal Shooting Style: Considering how the camera's features align with my shooting style and the types of photography I enjoy most.

  • Image Aesthetics: Thorugh a look at the overall image quality and aesthetics produced by the camera, as each camera may have a unique "look".
Here I consider also the photos I was able to produce with the camera all over the years.

  • Intended Use: By considering the primary purpose of the camera (street photography but also giving a bonus for professional work and personal projects that camera allowed me to achieve.

  • Comfort and Ergonomics: What camera felt more comfortable and well-balanced in my hands?

  • Durability and Build Quality: A sturdy camera that can withstand the rigors of regular use and travel is crucial for long-lasting performance. I consider cameras made with metal better than the ones made with plastic, usually.

  • Lens Selection: The evaluation on lenses I used with a certain camera made an important point on the ranking.

This is why I'm sure many will be surprised by my choice. But I don't measure in the number of megapixels or ideas commonly accepted by others. This ranking reflects what is my experience with cameras that I worked/work with. And now we can see the video:
