The essence of an experience
Let's not lose sight of the real goal
Street photography has become a competition for many. And obviously where the competitions are there are also the scammers, the cheaters, those who are not honest. In order to reach their goal which is to become famous or... rich (yes I know it's quite funny when applied to photography) and…I read a piece froma a photographer this morning that stated there are “street photographers” making collages to obtain a decent photo. They are making this using photoshop, but wait a moment…this is not street photography!
Seriously they think to be street photographers? The main error with Street Photography is also the great misunderstanding: Street Photography is not a genre, it is more an experience, a choice to be on the streets and making photos. With that said, yes sure you can imitate the aesthetics and the intent of Street Photography (with photoshop and AI) BUT if you don’t go out, iif you don't wear out the soles, if you don't risk being kissed or stabbed, if you are not on public place you are not a street photographer and you can’t pretend that is street photography. And if you are making collages you are just a prick.
The ontological answer is simple: a street photographer is an individual who photographs on the street and who from experience in the real world is able to first perceive and then photograph an essence and a dimension of what he has in front of him. Don't be a loser by staying at home and doing nerdy things just to get attention - you're missing out on life and life is real life not sitting on the couch farting.
If you are cheating stop to do it now. We know who is cheating. It is a looser thing. It is just putting the written CRAP on your brow. Street Photography exists only when you are on the street with your camera.
This discourse should put an end to certain practices. You have no respect for us true street photographers. You are just scammers. It also shows that your life has ceased to be life. you are in a perennial lockdown which is first and foremost in your brain which is now a cage.
Freedom is on the street. Inspiration is on the street.
A street photographer.
