Why Ricoh is the camera manufacturer closest to street photographers

There is a brand that is the closest to street photographers. I explain you why.

First with the analog series. later with the GRD series and now with the GR series, Ricoh stands out in the proposal with absolutely compact cameras, perfect for us street photographers.

Before going on let me clarify: this post is born spontaneously. I don't get anything from Ricoh for what I write.

If I express my thoughts in this afternoon is because I just share with my readers what is a fact. In the past I worked with a Ricoh GRD IV, that superb compact accompanied my "Japanese" phase thanks to a black and white leaving me speechless and I could realize my project ITALIA DOLCE VITA.

The development of this manufacturer, who in the past had shown to be sensitive to the reactions of those who use their cameras, has increasingly gone to meet us street photographers. And if Ricoh GR III Street Edition it was a public wink to the target audience, with the Ricoh GR III X the manufacturer openly stated: Ricoh really listens to photographers.

In fact, if other brands show that they operate according to internal strategies only and limit themselves to proposing what they want, perhaps even completely ignoring the requests on a particular series that has been discontinued (who said X70?) Ricoh released the GR III X counting with an approx. 40mm in 35mm equivalent focal length.

This is exactly the type of lens I prefer and many street photographers like me. In fact if 28mm is extremely popular among many street photographers, 35mm or near that focal length is favored by many others. Try to imagine those (I know there are a lot) street shooters deciding to purchase both cameras. On the street you don’t need anything else. And we talk about reliable compact cameras that you can put in your pocket.

These are the reasons why I think today Ricoh is the street photography camera manufacturer par excellence and for the desire to be.
