Why will I buy another Reflex in 2022

The choice is made and in a few days another workmate will be mine.

The camera will therefore be a Rebel T7.

Why this choice? In the last months i worked only with the Canon Rebel T3, an old camera released 10 years ago. The experience is so positive that it made me think a lot about where I want to take my photography. I have already told you that you should not choose a camera because the market suggests it but rather choose a work tool that will allow you to carry out your projects exactly as you want.

I'm not a fool. I know very well that there are advanced and much better performing cameras. And I also know that many think that a professional should work with other types of cameras. It is in my possibility to also buy cameras considered professional. And I know that Canon Rebel T7 (2000D for the rest of the world) is presented as a camera for beginners, exactly as the Rebel series is, a entry-level line. Time now to say you my reasons:

  • I will use the camera most of the time for my street photography, considering it an upgrade of my Rebel T3

  • I work many times in unsafe areas and I need a small, light and cheap camera

  • With this acquisition I will have a 24mm (38.4mm e.ff) and 50mm (80mm e.ff) mounted on my Canon cameras, ideal condition for all the work I can do: portraits, books, coverage, documentary projects

Don’t forget I have also my Fake Leica with me. With Canon Rebel T7 I can count on the same resolution: 24mpx of the camera produced by the discriminating brand. While Rebel T3 will become the second DSLR, I will use most of the time the T7 for Street Photography.

Guys, I have published recently a post explaining why I consider a big mistake to stop the production of DSLRs and now you have the confirmation that what I was advocating is supported by choices that influence my photography now and in the future.
