The portrait is a shot of eternity that comes from a long time ago. It comes to you and it comes to me. It comes from a form of talking to each other without making a sound.
I don't like the academic, pictorial, redundant portrait. I don't like book style photography. Whoever poses for me must and does accept it. I don't like formulas and therefore poses that are all the same, standardized, because you can see a mile away that you studied them at school. I like the natural gesture. The one that highlights the person's soul, that revealing moment between you and me, girl. I like worries, questions, that suspended time. I like the portrait that doesn't pander. I like the portrait that doesn't wink and rather bruises. The portrait hot knife between the ribs of your personal pain. The portrait that affects and not of affection.
