To Photograph in EDOMEX: A Different Kind of "Sport"

Yes, guys. Photographing in EDOMEX is nothing like working in the polished streets of Mexico City’s Roma or Condesa. It’s a different kind of "sport," one that keeps you alert. I started on the highway, where the chaos of the traffic, with huge truck drivers whizzing by seamlessly. Here I can focus on the landscape, the urban envinronment and I can think different, I have to think different.

By photographing in black and white, I’m able to focus on the structure, the emotions, and the raw essence of what I want to show. It is redecued anything to the essence. Yesterday, as I framed my shots, I was constantly drawn to the interplay of light and shadow. To shoot with the Olympus Pen EP5 helps me a lot in the process, it is like shooting with a cool small and compact 35mm point & shoot camera.

Photographing in EDOMEX isn’t easy, but that’s exactly why I love it. It challenges you to slow down, to observe, and to connect. I’m sharing a selection of yesterday’s shots below.
