Yesterday

Today I went out with only the Rebel. A spare battery in my pocket, which obviously was more of a concern than anything else.

I can keep the camera on all

the time and the battery stays full.

They say DSLRs aren't good for street photography. They say they attract too much attention.

I can't know, since I shoot right in people's faces and seem invisible.

For me, it's more of a mental thing that creates limitations, because if you think that way, your body language is influenced, and then yes, you attract too much attention, perhaps even in a negative way.

Here I am, dressed up, camera around my neck, doing my job.

Isn't a DSLR cool enough? Who cares. Better yet. No one thinks you can do serious photography like that. Then photographers who know (who know?) also say that the Rebel isn't a real camera, that the AF is crap, and that street photography is done at f/16 and zone focus. Yes, yes. So explain something to me: if I, possibly, take better photographs than those who have the right camera, what does that mean?
