The consistency
My photography is honest. It doesn't shout. It doesn't seek easy applause. But the art directors of major international brands notice me and hire me because I'm capable of transcending the social media hype.
For my part, I use street photography as training. Because my real job is commercial photography. Which always has artistic elements within it but always keeping in mind the fact that I am not an artist: I am proudly a craftsman. Nothing has changed: my favorite photographer is Helmut Newton and my first reference is Efrem Raimondi, photographers pretty distant from street photography as you know.
My decisions are always focused on making my honest work, documeenting the world around me in a respectful way. Also I consider everytime to have consistency that make me to propose a kind of photography that is constantly taking into account that I am not kidding here. I am a professional photographer, and that marks an important difference with those making only street photography in their free time. It is not snobbery. It is just a fact. The reality of my need to make a living with photography. This inevitably leads to choices that are different from those made by other photographers. In this sense also ther aesthethic of my photography has been reformulated and refined over the years. This special focus includes also my choice on the equipment, of course.
