4:3, Black and White, Street Photography
It starts a new phase of my work
Waiting to go back to work with micro four thirds I set the Canon M200 in 4:3 aspect ratio. It doesn't matter if I lose a bit in file size, I feel the format works better for my street photos. And I am going to show it soon, also on this blog.
By photographing directly in JPG every choice in the camera proves to be fundamental for the final result, but this contributes to my process which is different from those who rely heavily on subsequent processing in post production. The images I got from this first outing reflect my current black and white street vision. Although not my ideal camera with which I would like to work in the future, the Canon M200 still manages to get me an excellent job. When photographing with high ISOs, consistent grain emerges but it doesn't bother me.
The return to black and white which, in a certain sense, first of all surprises myself, is due to a different approach that I manage to tell the road in a different way and is aimed at an editorial project that I will propose to my clients.
Canon M200 is a great camera for Street Photography. I consider it the most similar to a Ricoh GR for the way you approach the streets with this camera. By using it now in black and white I can feel a different mood that reflects the entire experience.
Stay tuned because I will show more photos soon.
