ACQUA MARINA. ALEX COGHE

Title of the photograph: Acqua Marina
Brief statement of the photograph: A full frame built with several layers that add value to an image, even quite simple, but able to represent the sense of place. By making the association of two objects through the composition I determine a relationship that is actually only created.
The photograph apart from this association of colors offers an observation of the urban landscape of the suburbia of Mexico City, clarifying the neo-topographical intent of the documentation.
The chosen point of view challenges the observer's attention, offering his perception the different layers that subsequently lead to appreciate the details of the buildings, the railway, the mountain and the trees. In the complex analysis of the phenomenology of the commonplace, to speak with Joel Sterfeld words about Stephen Shore landscape, I wanto to be "a provider of centrality of experience" by giving you the feeling of being there, you the observer in the scene, so I have to challenge your senses, and this explains the pole out of focus in the foreground. Just like Guido Guidi who uses the poles or trees as an introduction to get into the image.
