alex street, rangefinder and foma
Yesterday I received a package from the Czech Republic
The package included:
2 FOMAPAN 400 ACTION
1 FOMAPAN 200 CREATIVE
1 FOMA ORTHO 400
FOMA has always been a brand I respect. They continue to produce high-quality black and white films with a distinctive character that resonates with my approach to photography. There’s something truly satisfying about working with film that has a rich tradition and delivers consistent, beautiful results.
The FOMAPAN 400 ACTION is a film I’ve used in the past, with a old Minolta. With a great balance of grain, contrast, and tonality, it’s an excellent choice for my street and documentary work.
The FOMAPAN 200 CREATIVE promises to be another gem: offering fine grain and stunning midtones, perfect for portraits and nuanced scenes.
And in this package there’s the FOMA ORTHO 400: an intriguing film that I’m particularly excited to experiment with. Its unique orthochromatic sensitivity means it will render tones differently, something I’m eager to explore with my Canon Model 7.
Shooting with a rangefinder is already a special experience, but pairing it with these film stocks takes it to another level. I look forward to developing these rolls and sharing my results. Stay tuned for more: because nothing beats the thrill of film photography.
THANKS FOMA FOR YOUR WORK AND BEING SO SPECIAL!
