An inspiring playlist for street photographers
As my readers know the experience as a street photographer in Los Angeles in 2011 was important to me. This year in October it will be 10 years since that trip. So I created a playlist on spotify.
There is Nujabes music, lo fi beats, jazz parts, punk rock, hip hop…it's not about the music of that period but about the music that is inspired by that photographic experience, three weeks of street photography in Los Angeles, California.
In compiling this playlist I certainly thought about the places and settings of my photographs, keeping in mind what can be good for a street photographer. It is good music also for a darkroom session or if you are busy with the post processing in Lightroom or Capture One.
10 years ago. In Los Angeles I discovered so much about myself, about what I could do with photography and what photography was able to give me. In my unconsciousness at that time I was laying the foundations for what would happen in two years. It was at the same time the landing point of the first buoy, after I had embraced digital photography and the beginning of a professional career in 2005.
I always believed hat from any trip you back at home as a new person. I went back to Mexico with a lot of new ideas and a renewed energy. I went back to Mexico even speaking Spanish.
Above you see the most important photo realized during that experience. For me it is able to sum up the essence of street photography. This is the reason why I use it a lot and you can see it also on the splash page of this website.
All over these years I always thought that I want to back to Los Angeles some day. Shortly before (a few days before) the pandemic started I had prepared a street photography workshop to make there. I think it would be a great thing for all willing to make a workshop with me. Now I consider that project only postponed for a better era.
