Back from Aguascalientes

I have just returned from Aguascalientes after three intense days on assignment.

Back from Aguascalientes after three intense days on assignment. Another football story, another city discovered through photography. My fourth Liga MX match and my fifth assignment of the year. Now the work continues at the editing desk.

This was my fifth assignment of the year and my fourth Liga MX match photographed. But, as often happens with this kind of work, the match itself was only one part of the story. The assignment will become another football reportage, going beyond the ninety minutes and looking at the people, places and stories surrounding the game. Aguascalientes was a new city for me. I had never been there before, and working there gave me the chance to discover it through the camera, moving between the stadium, the streets and the different situations that gradually became part of the story.

Three days can be intense when you are working on assignment. There is little time to stop, but this is also what I enjoy about editorial photography: arriving somewhere unfamiliar, observing, adapting and trying to make sense of a place through photographs. Now I am back home and the second part of the work begins. I am going through the images, editing and making the final selection that will be delivered to the client.

The photographs will tell the rest of the story.

And I am already looking forward to cover the 6th assignment the end of this month.
