As you know I am a Street Photographer based in Mexico City.
Over the years my understanding and experience with the city continues to improve. If 12 years ago I was a boy lost in a megalopolis, today I know areas that not even my wife who was born here. This is to the full advantage of my work as a photographer and also of my students who decide to choose a workshop with me.
A Street Photography workshop with me today is one of the best photography experiences you can have here in Mexico. And the deep connection with this city and with the people who live there is certainly a relevant part of this truth.
Mexico City is considered the New York City of LatinAmerica. I've heard comparisons made by students who came from that very city in the US. The peculiarity that many reveal, however, is that Mexico City has an incredible social mix. In the places of the historic center people from all walks of life live together and share the same streets. An uncommon thing for many cities around the world. You can understand how this is an extraordinary opportunity for those who do street photography.
