FIFA 2026: We start!!!

FIFA 2026 Kicks Off in Mexico City

The atmosphere is already building in the streets of Mexico City.

This morning I headed to the historic center and the FIFA Fan Fest area around the Zócalo, where supporters wearing the green of Mexico gathered hours before the official celebrations. Flags, jerseys, masks, chants, and spontaneous moments have begun transforming the city into a stage where football and everyday life collide.

As a photographer, what interests me most is not only the spectacle itself, but also the human stories unfolding around it. The anticipation. The pride. The rituals. The small interactions that reveal how a major global event becomes part of local life.

The images below are part of an ongoing visual reportage documenting the opening days of FIFA 2026 in Mexico City. This is only the beginning. Over the coming weeks I will continue photographing not just the matches and celebrations, but also the culture, emotions, and social landscape surrounding the tournament.

What strikes me most so far is the diversity of the crowd. Families, young supporters, street vendors, wrestling fans wearing lucha libre masks, and entire groups wrapped in Mexican flags have turned the city into a living portrait of national identity and collective anticipation.

I will be publishing regular updates, photographs, and behind-the-scenes observations throughout the tournament.
