GiAi ND/PL filters

Yesterday I received 2 filters shipped from China with a request to test them and making a review on this blog.

The filters they shipped to me come in a fairly professional packaging with a plastic box. They are presented as multi-function filters making both the work as neutral density and polarizer filters.

Now I have to say a thing: I really don’t know how much i will use them, maybe never. You know this blog is honest and direct expression of myself, my experience as photographer, and I say things out of the teeth. My photography simply doesn't get any benefit from a filter that is polarized or neutral. Indeed is exactly the opposite: this is because my way to photograph reduces any possibility I will use a filter on my lenses.

The first thing coming to my mind is that I can never use a polarizer facing directly toward the sun. The second reason is that for shots that include the sun the extra glass can result in more flaring. The third cons is about my necessity to photograph reflections.

And for love of the truth you have to consider also the fact that these considerations are made from a photographer with very little experience with filters in general.

So would I recommend these filters? Of course not to street photographers like me.

The offer of lens filters is particularly saturated. From what I deduce the construction of the filters seems to me very good, but then again, I do not consider myself absolutely a filter expert, having used maybe a couple in my entire life.

If you are a landscape photographer or someone that wants to protect the lenses maybe you can consider these filters.

Please note: It would certainly have been convenient and easier for me to do a positive review, but I am a honest person and I can’t tell something that I don’t believe.
