Highlights January 2022

To be honest this month is a bit 'limp. Normal after the Christmas holidays but maybe I'm a little drained too.

The first shot that i propose you is a portrait of Carmen, my wife, done at home and on a decidedly abstract level.

A good photo to show the microcosm of the Zocalo, the main square of the city. I like the energy that comes from the background with blurry people.

I love this picture. I was able to position the cyclist in the perfect position with respect to the scenario.

Sorry but I had to insert this selfie. I like how I feel inside the frame, I can also notice some results of my workout. You may not believe it but it is not an art gallery. This is the underpass of a metro station. Here art is also on the metro.

And speaking of composition I also include this photo that I analyzed in detail in the post that you can read by clicking here.

Yes, I keep photographing people behind the windows. And I like it a lot.

My humanist photography is respected in this photo that reminds me to the Mexico that I love and that aesthetically was nurtured by the photos of Valtierra and Lopez but also by the fact of simply being here and loving a certain type of photography that is part of the DNA of this country.

From the observation of details like this one leans a lot of my observing. I'm interested in how people's hands express people's essence on the street. In this case even in a somewhat extreme conception.

A photo like this can go unnoticed, but on this type of photo I stress the importance of the street photo. Here the people are just as relevant as the building in their background. To me it somehow feels cinematic as a scene and I like it.

If someone is armed and with the gun out for me it is an invitation to photograph. If I can I do it. And this despite once a policeman I photographed when I was from behind made me hear the sound of the trigger.

Notes

For the ones who want to know about cameras. All the photos you see on this post I took them with the old Canon Rebel which has become more and more a reliable companion in the last months.
