Highlights March 2022

Guys I really forgot to publish the March selection! I immediately take care of a one month selection that has been pretty good.

Rider. Alex Coghe 2022

The photo is quite normal, but it still benefits from good light. If I propose it, it is because I was able to capture such an everyday urban moment yet somehow interesting.

Buccaneers. Alex Coghe 2022

I am not used to photograph subjects for the simple fact of a physical defect. The exception in this case is due to the opening of a new phase underlined by the new visual blog All Forgetable Things that also wants to provoke a bit visually.

Sex. Alex Coghe 2022

Few would dream of putting such a photo under the wing of street photography. If I do it, it is because a certain Japanese approach to photography allows me to do so. And because the realization of this photo has a gestation of the concept gained over many years of observation and several photos taken. This statue for me has a strong erotic value, which implies submission and availability. It is certainly a different statue from many others in the Alameda park.

Estanquillo. Alex Coghe 2022

The different layers in this photo make the frame full of elements which is a pleasure to linger over this image.

Eagle Cry. Alex Coghe 2022

After using this mural that reproduces an eagle for my urban landscape project, I went back to take a photo but with a more street photography connotation. The other photo is one of the best-selling as a print. I hope this follows that path of success.

Close. Alex Coghe 2022

Sometimes I just have to photograph subjects very close. More: in your face.

No flash! Alex Coghe 2022

I haven't used the flash yet it looks like I did. And I just like the photo for that. A digital that looks like film.

Poles. Alex Coghe 2022

This photo was particularly appreciated and why it is not difficult to guess. And anyway there is a lot of me in this photo, of my way of observing and composing in such an anti-photographic way that it becomes a real snapshot. Guys, whoever erases poles from photos should be thrown in jail!

Clown. Alex Coghe 2022

My street photography is totally devoted to the human. And if I didn't take such portraits, what photographer would I be?

Water girl. Alex Coghe 2022

Let me say that I am particularly happy with how I resolved this photograph compositionally. The whole dynamic works and it's an image that documents a lot of everyday life in Mexico.

Stray dog. Alex Coghe 2022

Inevitable that the trip to Hidalgo has produced a characterization of this month in the selection made. And now I have my stray dog too.

Notes

A month full of photography. A month that counts even with a short trip. I feel like I'm photographing in a different way.
