Highlights April 2022

And the month just concluded presents a selection that reflects other great days on the street of Mexico City.

Lagunilla. Alex Coghe 2022

You know that the Lagunilla area in Mexico City reminds me of the Fashion district of Los Angeles, California. And with that state of mind I made this photo.

Naked woman. Alex Coghe 2022

The surreal inside the antiques market. In particular here I have solved well the composition which is endowed with depth and gives a good informative spectrum of the place.

Wind Dance. Alex Coghe 2022

I tell you right away that I consider this photo one of my best ever. There is that element of imponderable that resolves itself into a sort of dance, as the lesson of the master Winogrand has given us. There is wind, something not always easy to show. There are gestures and expressions. They are 5 women.

Kiss me. Alex Coghe 2022

A kiss, which goes further. Her expression. A kiss that is not the classic kiss we see in street photos.

Women are Beautiful. Alex Coghe 2022

The style of the women photographed is the main reason for the image. And then let me say that when I now see normal people who do not wear masks on the street, it is an invitation to take pictures. I have my balls full of masks!

Green. Alex Coghe 2022

Green is not only in my eyes. Green is something I have come to love in the domination of many of Stephen Shore's photos. And I love how I achieved to capture all this green in this image. Starbucks is a very good locatiopn for photos. Their coffee is garbage, however.

Masked. Alex Coghe 2022

it is an imperfect, blurry photo. If I propose it, it is because it is sad and social.

X. Alex Coghe 2022

The heart of street photography is in recognizing and capturing moments that reveal humanity. And it is often a matter of details, almost imperceptible.

Cerveza. Alex Coghe 2022

After taking this photo, a gentleman at the next table gave me a thumbs up. It is sufficent to include it in this selection.

Notes

April has been a month full of human and photographic adventures. The feeling is to have raised the bar again. I am a street photographer who has also been reborn thanks to the change of cameras and I feel particularly inspired. It's been 11 years since the experience of Los Angeles, where I was an enthusiastic street photographer. I haven't lost that enthusiasm one bit. But I'm definitely a better photographer.
