Highlights October 2021

It is an intense month with busy days. I am preparing the expedition in Oaxaca, I published the magazine before of the usual scheduled time and also this selection is influenced by my next commitments.

As soon as I saw the girl with the stuffed horse I pointed the camera and took the shot. It is a photograph showing a lot of the barrio culture.

I photographed because the light was interesting in thatplace and when I have seen the t-shirt I was immediately attracted by taking a photo of her. I think masks are our identity killer and the t-shirt represents an escape from that personality prison.

I would offer an idea of the perspective of the man in front of the urbanity. I previewed when he would pass in front of my lens and I took the shot.

It is a photo of a tree. Maybe not just that. It is an essence and atmosphere. It is urban poetry. It is the sun crossing the branches.

Photographing the shop showcases represent our opportunity as street photograpers to collect some intimity in public spaces.

Tenochtitlan as I called it this picture is a photo that reflects that feeling of watching the crowd in Mexico, a country about which many untruths are being told. As a documentary photographer I know that photos say more than thousand words. Photographing from the balustrade I stop the focus first, creating a mental definition of what we observe. The lady dressed in yellow. The. And you.

Doctores is a barrio in downtown of Mexico City: don’t go alone, especially with a camera, if you are a stranger! I do it because I do it, but you don’t. On the left you can see a big mural dedicated to the popular Mexican singer Josè Josè. There is a good dynamism in this picture.

The blonde hair of this woman was an invitation to photograph. It is pretty far to be a good composition, and yet I like it. I like the shapes conveyed in the frame.

This is a powerful shot. I saw it pass on the left and I previewed the scene. I shot at the right time with only one chance to get a good shot.

This photo I took unusually with an equivalent 80mm lens in ff. It is not my way to make street photos as you know. But in this case it works.
