If you are into Street Photography FILL THE FRAME is the documentary to watch now

Tim, who interviewed me recently for his blog, just released for anyone to watch his FILL THE FRAME, documentary about street photography. Check it out.

With the continuing rise of the digital age and popularity of social media, the genre of street photography has propelled like we've never seen before. Still there is more opportunity for street photography to be recognized and appreciated by the masses. ALL COPYRIGHT TO TIM HUYNH MEDIA LLC

We are all a bit like children of Cheryl Dunn’s Everybody Street.

The explosion of Street Photography also passes through the creation of increasingly ambitious and high-level documentaries. FILL THE FRAME certainly fits into this batch of well-made films, turning attention to more contemporary photographers than Cheryl Dunn.

We need this. We need the work of Youtubers offering content, like the series by Paulie B. We need to spread the culture of Street Photography. It is crucial because everyone takes photos in the world but few have photographic culture. and despite many have cameras, to see a photographer on the street is often seen as weird or even a threat. Too many people see taking photos as the act of photographing themselves with a monument in the background but a photographer making photos is weird. We have to change this. The system at a certain point, supported by the mainstream narrative decided photographers had to be put under suspicion. The reason is clear: fewer witnesses around, more possibility of perpetrating abuses of the individual's fundamental rights. Fortunately, most constitutions still recognize the right to take photographs in public places.

FILL THE FRAME is certainly a highly recommended documentary. In the Antiguo Colegio San Ildefonso (one of the most ancient and prestigious univiersities in LatinAmerica) I given in the past a reading about EVERYBODY STREET. I would love to make the same with this work by Tim Huynh.

Good watching and get inspired to ggrab your camera and go out to make photos.
