SOME NOTES
The photographic project created for the client Leica Camera AG between February and March 2013 was published in the Leica X catalog. A video interview has been published and also a post on the LEICA CAMERA BLOG.
The project presents a mixture of street photography and documentary portraits where the declared objective was to present everyday life in the huge Mexico City park, acually a forest. So the work presents what I do best and already shows evidence of what came next in my experience as a professional photographer.
Resuming that work after 8 years, I decided to edit the images again by reworking the native JPGs files. Despite being JPGs from several years ago, the quality of the Leica camera files is very good and very ductile for reworking without compromising the desired result.
In my idea and approach I wanted to achieve a vintage result, close to film, without exceeding. So I thought my Lightroom preset Meyerowitz and Me could be perfect for the type of visual proposal of this project. I feel I have managed to give a good aesthetic to the images, respectful of a work that I presented to such an important client and I will send the link to this post to them to possibly receive a comment.
When I handed the commission to the client, I worked on really tight deadlines. Today with the experience gained during these years and with the right calm I wanted to put my hand to the images. In this gallery you will find several images that have never been published or previously presented in any other way, for example in black and white.
I believe that this work respects the spirit of Leica Camera AG and at the same time that of Chapultepec park, of the people who live there and in general presents something important in the social documentation of Mexico. Feel you free to leave a comment here.
