Rocky Balboa, Ivan Drago and the happiness of a street photographer

I was enjoying the experience of being in the south of the city photographing. And I met them:

Rocky IV - Mexico City, 2021

The exaltation you feel when you are photographing and enjoy a truly fulfilling day. Then you see a shop window and find things that tell you about a past that you can tell because you have lived it.

I was a 10 years old kid when that movie came out in theaters. So then the vision of a shop window fills you with sensations and takes you back in time. And in photographing you try to make your own a sensation that is important to you.

Isn't that the meaning of photography? For years I have been dealing with ontology and, in particular, with the importance of photography as a memory tool. Not only as a capture to grab a moment but also for what some photographing is able to evoke. In the act of photographing we discover sensations but we can also recall them, taking them even from a small time that only a detail or a sensation is able to revive them. Just like photography.
