Shadows and lights in Rome
A photo made in 2017 in my hometown is an opportunity to think about the evolution of my photography.
This, guys, is a simple simple photo to take. In practice, it is enough that it counts with a strong light and in an area like the historic center of Rome, with buildings that build shadows by resting on the buildings opposite. Just worry about stopping down enough and setting the metering to spot.
I am perfectly aware that this is the stuff that many street photographers offer today. But precisely because it is easy and has easy success. People love to see the contrast in images. One thing they have become particularly used to (should I say spoiled?) With the advent of digital. With closed shadows you can make everything more minimalist and turn off possible distracting elements.
I am not a big fan of this. I think is a game I played when I was a street photography kid. now i pretend more from myself.
