THE PHOTOS
Except for the last one, all the photos were played with using the layers. The choices in this selection point in this direction. We're well aware of the challenges of shooting on the street. In a chaotic city like Mexico City, this becomes important, at least when I'm in the historic center.
I feel this even more now because my photography has become somehow more meditative and less in tune with the rhythm.
Unfortunately, in certain environments that I consider absolutely toxic, the definition of snapshot is used to define a photograph of little value. This, in addition to the fact that it shows a certain ignorance since the snapshot aesthetic has shaped and shifted much of the history of photography and I'm not talking about street photography only, is often practiced by those who have perhaps tried street photography a couple of times and it was a total flop. If you're no good at street photography, it's not street photography's fault. You're fine continuing to photograph mushrooms and do desktop publishing, now empowered by massive doses of AI, but don't bother us street photographers. Because the heavy post processed images are not something we are interested to see and photographing.
