Street Photography in conversation: Marie Fernandez Mota

A new episode introducing the photographers featured on my magazines dedicated to Street Photography. This time I did have the pleasure to talk with my friend Marie Fernandez Mota:

I recommend you to purchase the issue 84 with her work featured:

THE STREET PHOTOGRAPHER NOTEBOOK ISSUE 84
$5.00

This time it is a friend that I publish. I met Marie several years ago in Mexico City. She had just returned from Paris where she attended an art school with a focus on photography. In spite of her young age, I was struck by her maturity and a clarity of vision with respect to what must have been her steps as a documentary photographer. Marie then showed me friendship on several occasions, for example by helping me set up my exhibition in Mexico City. Publishing some of her work in this magazine is something that fills me with joy. Because the world deserves to meet a photographer with a particular eye on everyday life. My selection aims to highlight this. My approach was not to divide according to the project to which the shot belongs. In my opinion these are observations of life, of humanity taken up in recent years between Mexico and France, also passing through the theme of the pandemic. I tried to approach this work with absolute humility and I believe that the selection we are presenting today makes the correct dimension to this talented photographer who I am also honored to have as a friend of hers

A new inspiring issue of the magazine.
