The simplicity of the gaze
Have you ever wondered what it is that leads us to rest our gaze and therefore our attention on certain things and ignore others?
I do. Many times. To such an extent that I can say that much of my visual analysis starts from this question. Why is my gaze drawn to some things and at the same time ignoring others?
There are things photographers see that other people don't. Or rather they see the world with different eyes. Well, I like to think this. Photography teaches us to see the world. No new techologya is gonna to change this fact. The photographic experience feeds on the real world, there is nothing to do.
I find myself shooting in my neighborhood and find a composition. A scene in front of me that I find interesting, that catches my eye. The simplicity of the gaze.
