The Street Shooting Advice List according to an old school Street Photographer
I share this operative list for street photographers based on my experience.
I don't dwell on explanations. Some advice can be ambiguous and even unclear. But I want to keep them open to personal interpretation. I am pretty sure like-minded people will find inspirational this list. However if you have any questions you can ask them by commenting on this post. Here we go:
1. Be always ready to photograph
2. Be really interested in people
3. Be patient and don't get frustrated by fail
4. Do not think too much
5. Include the environment
6. Use several techniques of shooting
7. Pay attention to the position in relation to the subject
8. Think creatively and outside the rules
9. Observe gestures, postures, movements and the resulting dynamism
10. Forget what photography schools have told you
11. Shoot...a lot
12. React to the visual stimulus by photographing it
13. Indulge the camera you are using
14. Get into the rhythm of the place where you are
15. Raise the camera to shoot at the last useful moment
16. Don't forget the details
17. Don't get distracted and stay in the state of concentration
18. See the world with the eyes of a child
19. Do not preclude taking pictures because everything you see on the street can be photographed
20. You can be rough but not rude
