Threatened for photos of crowds

“You don't have to show these things” they said me. But I don’t care if this is going against a certain narrative. This is my work: to show what is Mexico.

I am a documentary street photographer.

I am just photographing the reality of the country where I live. With no filters and without responding to any comfortable theme or mainstream narration. I am a free man and a free journalist.

Over the course of 2021, I documented the pandemic in my own way. Now I have also taken that theme off me, preferring to photograph the things that are interesting to me without following any plot or project in particular.

What you see is a photo taken at the Zocalo, the main square of Mexico City. People are exiting the subway and others are looking at the products on the mats spread out on the floor by the vendors.
