To capture smiles and the freedom of a Street Photographer
Street Photography is not about the rules. Street Photography is to feel the vibe and energy in front of you and to be able to capture it in a frame. Street Photography is a matter to be there.
I took this photo while busy giving my one to one workshop.
In the old manuals of candid photography of the 40s and 50s. Visual contact was absolutely not recommended to maintain the idea of photography taken spontaneously and without intervention. This idea has dragged on to the present day, with photographers often repeating certain ideas as tables of laws, and like a code not to be questioned, they repeat them without even thinking and analyzing.
In fact, there is the belief that a look into the room and above all a smile kill the shot. While this may sometimes be true, I disagree that this is always the case. I strongly insist that the experience of street photography is above all a personal matter. And taking pictures on the street shouldn't negate our presence at all. The moment we set out on the street with a camera, we must be aware that we are a presence in all respects, which therefore produces effects on people.
There is no ninja style, And certainly as street photographers being invisible is one of the superpowers that defines us, But it is not an immovable constant. The same experience of street photography tells us something different.
