What kind of street photographer you are?
This ontological question often repeats itself in my thoughts. And the answer is never the same.
For example, I took this photo yesterday. And today I'm already here to propose it.
There are many photographers who would not do this. They suggest letting the photographs marinate, detaching oneself from them emotionally before proposing them.
I don’t.
And there is a reason: I am a photojournalist and often i found myself to edit my work and sending it to the agencies or to the clients. There is no room for waiting in my work. If you work on yourself and improve your knowledge of your photography and what your goals are, there is no need to wait.
This type of approach is also influenced by the editor experience. And my clients also benefit from this approach: I am very fast in delivering a work.
About this image: it represents a classic from me, yes a cliche too, but…for a long time I avoided repeating myself to take pictures of the windows of restaurants and cafes. In the end it is the same photo with different actors. Yesterday I went back to taking this type of photo. The man is very interesting. His expression is magnificent.
What kind of street photographer I am? Today I am saying that I am a street photographer interested to capture that humanity that you can find so revealing through a particular facial expression. In the expression of a face we can understand a lot about that person, even imagine going further. A probing into people's souls. This is basically photography for me. In trying to understand others, I also understand a lot about myself ..
