WITNESS, a magazine dedicated to showcasing real street documentary photography. In a world filled with gimmicks and visual jokes, WITNESS focuses on raw, authentic moments that document the human condition.

The magazine is published four times a year, both in electronic and print-on-demand editions, capturing powerful stories from the streets across the globe.

How to Become a Partner

We offer two ways to join WITNESS:

1. Partner per Issue (3 Months Valid)

• Fee: $15 USD

• What You Get:

  • Become a Partner with the ability to submit for one issue within the 3-month period.

  • If your work is featured, you receive the digital edition of that issue.

  • Opportunity to be showcased in our monthly video on THE STREET PHOTOGRAPHY CHANNEL

2. Annual Partnership

• Fee: $50 USD (Save $10 compared to paying per issue)

• What You Get:

  • Become a Partner with access to submit photos for all four issues of the year.

  • Digital editions of all four magazines, whether or not your work is featured.

  • Priority consideration for features and potential interviews.

  • Inclusion in the monthly video on THE STREET PHOTOGRAPHY CHANNEL if selected.

Terms and Conditions for Publication

By submitting your work and becoming a Partner of WITNESS, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility and Submission Requirements

• Open to all photographers worldwide who focus on street documentary photography.

• Submissions must be original works created by the photographer.

• Photos must reflect the ethos of street documentary photography; authentic, unposed, and true to the human condition.

• Photographers must own the copyright of all submitted images.

2. Image Specifications

• Files must be in high resolution (300 DPI) and in JPEG format.

• Minimal post-processing is allowed, but images should remain true to the moment captured. Of course AI images generated are strictly forbidden.

• No watermarks or signatures on the images.

• Color and Black and White images are accepted.

3. Selection Process

• All submissions will be reviewed by the editorial team.

• We accept single images and a selection of images up to 20 per submission. In different case we recommend to contact Alex first.

• Selection is based on storytelling, composition, and adherence to the street documentary style.

• Not all submissions will be published. The decision of the editorial team is final.

4. Usage and Copyright

• Photographers retain full copyright of their images.

• By submitting, photographers grant WITNESS a non-exclusive license to publish the selected images in the magazine (both electronic and print-on-demand editions) and promotional materials, including social media and THE STREET PHOTOGRAPHY CHANNEL.

• WITNESS will always credit the photographer whenever the images are published.

• Images will not be sold by WITNESS.

5. Fees and Membership

• Partner per Issue (3 Months Valid): $15 USD – Valid for submissions to one issue within a 3-month period. Digital edition provided if featured.

• Annual Partnership: $50 USD – Access to all four issues per year, with digital editions included for all four issues.

• Fees are non-refundable, even if the submission is not selected for publication.

6. Publication and Distribution

• WITNESS is published four times a year in electronic and print-on-demand editions.

• Featured Partners will receive the digital edition for free.

• Print-on-demand copies can be purchased at a discounted rate.

7. Responsibility and Ethics

• WITNESS is not responsible for any legal disputes arising from the publication of submitted images.

• Submissions must not violate the rights of third parties or include any offensive or defamatory content.

8. Agreement and Modification

• By submitting, photographers agree to these terms and conditions.

• WITNESS reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be communicated through the website.
