PLEASE NOTE: This particular workshop is focused on movida and nightlife in Zona Rosa. We will touch also other neighborhoods close, but the focus will be Zona Rosa. Due to the nature of this workshop it always means a weekend, therefore it starts on Friday and ends on Sunday.

Counting with an experience of 10 years living in the city, Alex Coghe will take you to the particular barrio of Zona Rosa, full of bars, clubs and people having fun, getting drunk and a lot of things that can happen in a neighborhood like that. Zona Rosa is known to be the barrio of election of the LGBTQ community in Mexico City and this inevitably comes out in the character of this historic barrio. It also counts with a established Korean community. Zona Rosa (Pink Zone) is a major shopping and entertainment district and a major tourist attraction for the city, so this is a perfect place to make street photography.
Mexico City is a vivid kaleidoscope of various humanity, and it is considered the New York City of LatinAmerica.Here is where theprofessional street photographer moves to realize his visual work of social documentation, with photographs ranging from the urban landscape to the straight and pure street photography. Counting with an experience of 10 years living in the city, Alex Coghe will take you to the heart of Mexico City to photograph the human condition and the night lifestyle.This is a full immersion street photography experience in the heart of Mexico City: you will go take pictures with Alex, always focused to create street photographs with a documentary value. Thanks to Alex's knowledge of the city you will make this in total personal safety, to really immerse yourself in the cityand returning through the photograph the contrasting and surreal soul of México-Tenochtitlan.

If you want to learn how to work in a historic barrio of Mexico City and spending 3 days (and nights) learning the tips, tricks, and secrets of a published street photographer and photojournalist this is the workshop for you. The purpose with these workshops is to offer a didactic path based on Alex’s experience as a street and documentary photographer shooting on daily basis.
The main goals:
– Creating street photos with a content and a documentary value;
– To increase the understanding of the process behind creating reportages and projects constructing a successful photographic project;
– To help photographers becoming sensitive and conscious visual storytellers able to recognize when they have a good picture, with a real value and impact on the audience;
– To offer support and a real mentoring program after the workshop with opportunity to be involved in some editorial and artistic projects;
The workshops count with a unique formula created and improved in years of experience as photography educator, giving workshops and conferences also in the most prestigious universities of Mexico (Antiguo Colegio San Ildefonso, TEC de Monterrey, Universidad de la Comunicacion).

Workshop Requirements:
Personal camera and at least a basic understanding of camera operation.
Comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for walking and navigating the streets of Zona Rosa.
