7Artisans 25mm f1.8: first hands on review

Hands on review made with Fujifilm XPro2, setted with Astia Soft simulation. I used the camera only 30 minutes and the result is what you see on this gallery.

The lens works great in my opinion: in combination with the highlight peak of my Fujifilm XPro2 is so easy to obtain photos in focus. Respect to other equivalent lens there is less depth of field. My dog portrait was realized to f8 and you can appreciate how is the bokeh.

For general street photography I think to be the first time with this lens results are not that bad, but I think I need to get more familiar with the lens to respond more quickly: the 2 women are out of focus and the background is in focus. It can be useful for some shots…clearly when you want to make so.

From an aesthetic point of view I can see how this lens produces images with a deeper, crisper color than Fujifilm original lenses. You can love it or hate it, personally I love it. It is because if you look at the image with the mannequins and the umbrella I can see how loyal to real are the colors and this is great in my opinion. That red made me fall in love with the lens. In general I can see the tones of the images are more organic - or should I say filmy? - than the original lenses.

I add as a last note that I would like to try this lens with some girl in a fashion set on the street.

First hands on review to me is OK. For you?
